Chefs - Part Time and Casual

Job description:

Our catering team is growing and we are looking for a part time chef to join the team.  The successful applicant will love working as part of a team, thrive off the energy of others, be willing to work hard in a fast paced environment, able to adapt to working in a range of different environments, have the ability to lead other chefs and front of house staff and will always, without exception, deliver the highest quality food possible.


Required attributes: 

  • Minimum five years experience as a chef            
  • Confident in all sections of a kitchen            
  • Able to professionally lead a small team            
  • Able to efficiently and methodically prepare for offsite events            
  • Exemplary food hygiene standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible to work both day and night shifts 

Availability:            

  • Part time chef - Four days/evenings per week (Wednesday – Saturday)            
  • Casual chef – 16-24 hours per week, must be available Thursday, Friday, Saturday


Desirable attributes:
           

  • Restaurant and fine dining experience
  • Knowledge regarding dietary requirements or a willingness to learn            
  • Ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions            
  • Ability to think outside the square and find solutions when required            
  • Clear and professional communication skills both verbally and written

Cooking class assistants - Casual

Job description:

We are looking for casual staff members who are prepared to roll up their sleeves, work hard as part of a team and deliver exceptional food experiences to our cooking class participants.  Casual cooking class assistants are required to prepare ingredients and equipment for cooking classes, welcome guests, clean dishes and tidy cooking benches during classes, chat with and assist cooking class participants and pack down from cooking classes.  This is a very fast-paced work environment and you must be happy to get your hands dirty!    

Required attributes:

  • Minimum 12 months experience working in a food/hospitality/catering environment
  • Immaculate hygiene and food safety standards
  • Confident communicator for example with team members and cooking class participants
  • Able to quickly and correctly identify ingredients and prepare them for the cooking class
  • Able to assist chefs with basic kitchen responsibilities including receiving goods, washing dishes and basic cooking tasks
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful work environment
  • Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must love food, cooking and eating! 

Availability:

Must be available 15-25 hours per week, days and nights (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday).
